Welcome to my website & thanks for checking out my blog. I thought I’d start off my first entry with a little bit more about me so you can all get to know me.

I’ve been in the wedding industry for over 12 years. After graduating from university with a degree in Public Relations I worked in a BBC press office for 2 years before deciding events was my thing.

I landed my first job working as a wedding coordinator in the beautiful Northumberland hotel, which was part of a wider UK hotel chain. I loved the venue, I left this venue after 2 years and ended up getting married there myself 1 year later. It still very much holds a special place in my heart; it was the first job I ever loved and my wedding venue!

I worked as a wedding coordinator for a few more years, then wedding sales manager before going off on maternity with my first son. When I was ready to go back to work in 2016 We Do Details Consultancy was created and I decided to launch my own business helping new venues get set up for weddings an existing venues increase their wedding sales.

I knew I looked at this industry differently to other wedding coordinators, I loved meeting new couples and I loved the communication with them. My conversion rate was high and I quickly figured out there was a process that couples went through after getting engaged and it was the same for every couple.

I knew how couples wanted to buy therefore I knew how I needed to sell; this was the key ingredient in the process.

I worked with venues short and long term and started to train coordinators on a 1:1 basis. I now train larger groups of coordinators from all over the UK telling them the customer sales journey for wedding couples and how they can have a huge impact on their decision.

Once coordinators understand there’s a process it’s no longer throwing spaghetti at a wall and seeing what sticks. It’s more than that, there are certain things coordinators could do at every stage in the process to get the sale.

It’s always came natural for me to teach and educate in a way that people understand. I’m a problem solver, I see a problem and I want solution for it. Selling weddings and being good at my job wasn’t enough for me, I wanted to know how and why. What made couples say yes to their wedding venue and most importantly what made them say no.

The more I dived into research on looking at what made couples say yes and what made couples say no the more I was certain about where my career path would eventually go and I was able to do this after going back into work in 2016.

I’ve been lucky enough to do what I love ever since. My plans for 2023 are to take on a few more short-term venue projects and continue to do more coordinator training days to educate wedding sales staff by giving effective ways to increase their wedding bookings.

I absolutely LOVE what I do and I’m guessing if you’re here reading this then you love one of a kind industry too!

I can’t wait to share my blog with you and lots of juicy details about the wedding industry that we all love but for now thank you for reading my first entry!
